National Donut Day 2016
This, my friends, is the first donut day in an election year! Donut Trump! Bagel Sanders, and Boston-Creme-Fillery Clinton! But enough cheap shots at the politicians - let's talk about the real issue:
Who are you voting for? Are you in favor of Torus Reform? Are you Repubagel, or a Doughmecrat? And what in god's green hell are you going to eat at the damn Tea Party? Probably Tea Biscuits, but this is America! We've got to do it our own way!
On the one hand, change is good! Look at the new Croissant Donuts! That's almost an independent party, which is BRILLIANT. Doughbama would agree with me here, I think, as would the folks on the other side of the baked good section, when I say working together is key*!
Glazed or powdered? Why does it have to be so polarizing? A donut has no poles, no north or south. It's a solid whole, and so too, should we be! We're all people. Perhaps the answer is Powdered AND Glazed.
That's why our mornings have two different parties - what we call the Continental Breakfast. A time for muffins, bagels, donuts, and bear claws to come together to make something great!
It doesn't matter whether you're a bagel person or a donut person, just so long as you get out there on Donut Day and eat breakfast. You can proudly say you 'doughted' at your local precinct.
On another note, it's been quite a long time since I've seen many of my old friends, and breakfast foods always remind me of the good times we all shared together - the memories that built us all as people and brought us to where we stand today!
Some of us are now heads of industry, developing new companies fashioned around donuts. Artists penning portraits of our favorite pink frosted pastries. I.T. professionals developing easier ways of finding your way to the local Dunkin' Donut shop. Even human resources, who both make sure these companies are full of the best people, and who make sure that the donuts are provided every day!
So today, let's give thanks to all those folks OUTSIDE our family - the folks that surround you every day, and hoist a cup o' JoeMerica in their name!
